Experimentation Scientific-technological jug

This experimentation was one of the seventeen high school courses included in the Brocca project. This course was characterized by the absence of Latin, the addition of information technology, technology and design and the considerable number of hours allocated to the laboratory.

It is replaced by the Gelmini reform with the "applied sciences" Option scientific high school nothing to do with Liceo Scientologico Tecnologico (in the opinion of those who have been lucky enough to teach you for that twenty years surely the best scientific course that the Italian school has ever had) STARTING FROM THE REDUCTION OF LABORATORY HOURS in scientific subjects (eg physics: reduced to zero hours; chemistry incorporated into a single subject along with sciences, reduced to zero, and so for all other scientific disciplines), in the deceased LST in the five course years the laboratory hours in the various disciplines were 1450.

What was the Technological Scientific High School Address (Brocca Experimentation)

He had an average of 34 hours per week, he did not study Latin, but he included in his study plan:

  1. Technology;
  2. Biology and Laboratory;
  3. Chemistry and Laboratory;
  4. Mathematics and Laboratory;
  5. Physics and Laboratory;
  6. Computer Science and Laboratory;
  7. Physics / Chemistry Laboratory in the two years (5 hours in first and 5 hours in second).

The weekly hours are yes 34, but on average 9 hours are reserved for laboratories where the theory teacher is assisted by a laboratory teacher. ( laboratory hours in the five years around 1450 ). This direction was characterized  by the integration of science and technology .

The Ministry had placed the Technological Scientific High School at some ITIS as these had the availability of certain laboratories (requisites) necessary to achieve the objectives set by the Brocca project, the engine of the new programs .

The Diploma

Although physically located within an ITIS, the Technological Scientific High School  does not issue a technical diploma but rather a scientific-high school diploma in science and technology .

What did the Technological Scientific High School offer?

It offered students a high school diploma in technology and science without Latin but which guaranteed:

  1. a  rich humanistic education with Italian Literature, History, Philosophy, English;
  2. a  complete scientific preparation with Mathematics, Computer Science, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Technology and Design;
  3. a  rich experimental activity with laboratories.

And after the Technological Scientific High School?

It was possible:

  1. enroll in any university faculty , in particular scientific, to obtain short (three-year) and specialist (five-year) degrees: architecture, biology, chemistry, pharmacy, physics, geology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, medicine, etc.
  2. For those who did not continue with university studies , access to the productive activity was facilitated with professional para-university or postgraduate professional courses: IFTS courses and ESF courses.
